SinhaLab

Welcome to SinhaLab

We build computational methods to better understand the fundamental process of aging and develop strategies to prevent age-related decline.

At the intersection of aging and digital pathology, we are pioneering computational approaches to understand the process of tissue aging, its regulators and ways to protect it, using high-resolution imaging, multi-omics and more.

Our Mission

At SinhaLab, our central goal is to understand the fundamental process of aging using big data and advanced machine learning approaches. We leverage multiple data types from image to multi-omics to electronic health records to develop a comprehensive view of tissue aging.

Research Focus

Tissue Architecture Aging

Establishing principles of how different tissues deteriorate with age and identifying their molecular regulators.

Aging and Cancer

Understanding how aging tissues transform to form tumors beyond the accumulation of mutations.

Digital Pathology

Developing tools to extract insights from high-resolution tumor and non-tumor histopathology images.

Our Innovations

ecPath

First demonstration that extrachromosomal DNA can be detected from histopathology images using multimodal deep learning.

PERCEPTION

First computational framework to guide personalized cancer treatment using single-cell RNA sequencing for kinase-targeted therapies.

DeepTarget

Method to identify direct and indirect targets of cancer drugs that drive in vitro killing efficacy and provide mechanism insights.

Our Team & Approach

Our interdisciplinary approach combines computational biology, machine learning, and biomedical imaging to address complex questions about aging that weren't accessible through traditional methods. We are a diverse team with expertise spanning machine learning, bioengineering, computer vision, and omics analysis. Meet our full team →
